Shower Enclosure
SHOWER REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO USE
Please Ensure the Following 6 Requirements for Use
Your shower enclosure must be sealed and adapted correctly for steam use. Your local plumber/contractor should be able to provide the correct, basic steps including the following requirements below.
1. YOUR SHOWER ENCLOSURE
We recommend that your shower floor not exceed approximately 5 x 3 feet in length and width. This would be considered the optimal shower size or smaller. If your shower is slightly larger as shown in the image, it may still be acceptable. However, the smaller the enclosure, the better the performance will be for retaining the heat.
Your shower enclosure should be no more than 120 cubic feet in total, or smaller.
Any combination of shower dimensions within 120 cubic feet should suffice.
2. SHOWER FLOOR SIZE
As with most steam shower enclosures, it is recommended to have your ceiling height at approximately 7.5 feet. 8 feet should still be acceptable. However, as with any heated environment, the heat will rise, and therefore the lower the ceiling, the better the performance. See the performance video.
3. SHOWER CEILING HEIGHT
Please make sure that you install Serene Steam so that the steam system and bench can be opposite each other as shown in this image. Installation must result in the steam system directly facing the user while they are sitting on a bench during use. The bench can be either permanent as shown, or mobile.
If your shower construction does not allow for this basic setup as shown, please do not attempt to install without contacting us first for further technical assistance. Please See detailed image.
4. SERENE STEAM PLACEMENT
Set your water heater to 140 degrees F for best results. Serene Steam use is IAPMO Certified & meets IGC-154-2019 standard.
Serene Steam functions with both standard and tankless water heaters suitable for whole house.
5. WATER HEATER TEMPERATURE
Standard household water pressure should be at least 65 PSI for best results. Please check that your water regulator is up to code. (65 PSI is considered standard).
